How about a Sewing Party !?

　ここのところ私が気にいる大好きなお仕事が、

Teenager の女の子達とのSewing Lesson Party です。

　針は勿論，ただの生地にも触れた事のない子供達に教える事は大変ですが、思わぬ発見があったり、想像もつかない失敗に、後からおかしくてたまらない事もあります。

　根気が続かない子と一緒に頑張って，仕上がった時の笑顔は最高（笑）

私の方が嬉しくなってしまいます。

　ただの素材が，着れる服になる。自分が使えるものになる。

そういう経験はとても大切だと思うのです。

ありがとう、Helen Kreislerさん

今朝、朝一番のメールで悲しいお知らせが届きました。

The Robbins Library wishes to share sad news with the families who frequent the Robbins Library. Our dear children's librarian, Helen Kreisler, has just passed away. Her death, by natural causes, has shocked us all. Helen brightened the room with her smile, her kind manner and her eagerness to help. As a professional photographer (http://helenkreisler.wordpress.com/, http://www.flickr.com/photos/helenkreisler/ ) Helen's photos reveal a passion for beauty in nature and a keen observer of people. She was a valued coworker and a cherished friend. She will be sorely missed.

We will not be holding our normal story times this week (November 8 and November 10.) We will have a book at the desk in the Children's Room for those who would like to share a few words about or would like to write a farewell to Helen. The Friends of the Robbins Library will be accepting donations in Helen's honor; the library will use the funds for a special purchase for the Children's Room in honor of Helen's memory. We will let you know about memorial service/funeral arrangements as soon as we know more.

私達がこの町に住み始めてから、ずっとお世話になった図書館のお姉さんでした。

ご本を探すときも，返却が遅れて慌てたときも，学校の調べもののときも、いつも優しい笑顔で子供達の目線だったHelen...

ありがとう、どうぞ安らかに・・・

たった今、お悔やみごとのメールがはいりました。

As many of you know, the Robbins Library recently lost our dear children's librarian, Helen Kreisler. Her death has shocked us all. Helen brightened the room with her smile, her kind manner and her eagerness to help. She was a valued coworker and a cherished friend. She will be sorely missed. Thank you to all of the patrons who stopped by to share a hug and memories about Helen in the past week. A wake is scheduled for Tuesday evening, November 16 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Keefe Funeral Home (5 Chestnut Street).

The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, November 17 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church (51 Medford Street, Arlington).
